According to the university, the honour was conferred on the Ghanaian leader in acknowledgement of his distinguished leadership and notable contributions to democratic governance, public administration, and international cooperation.

Yonsei University, one of South Korea’s most prestigious higher education institutions, noted that President Mahama’s career in public service and governance has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and promoting global collaboration.
