Kofi Boat and Two Other Ghanaians Face Extradition to America Over Alleged $100 Million Fraud & Romance Scam.

  Three Ghanaian nationals, including an alleged cybercrime kingpin, are facing extradition to the United States in connection with a $100 million fraud scheme involving Business Email Compromise (BEC) and romance scams, according to GhanaWeb report. The suspects, Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, also known as Kofi Boat; a man identified only as Agony; and a third accomplice, were arrested on Friday, June 13, 2025 in a joint operation between Interpol and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). According to GhanaWeb, there is a fourth suspect remains at large. The extradition request, issued by the US Department of State and relayed through the US Embassy in Accra, follows a May 2023 indictment by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. The popular Kumasi-based musician, whose real name is Thomas Adjei Wireko, made it into Section B of the Music and Creative Arts paper of the examination. In question 4(c) of the paper, students were asked to identify two important social issues addressed in King Paluta’s hit song “Aseda.” The inclusion of King Paluta in a national examination appears to signal a growing recognition of his works beyond entertainment but rather delve into social commentary. Gov't To Pay GH¢1,500 Tuition Per Term For Students In Private SHS

  The government is extending the Free SHS program to private Senior High Schools (SHS) as it covers tuition fees amounting to GHS 1,500 per semester for students placed in as a new pilot. On TV3’s Hot Issues on Sunday, June 1, the Ghana National Council for Private Schools (GNACOPS) affirmed that the program will start in the 2025–2026 school year. According to Enoch Nana Gyetuah, Executive Director of GNACOPS, the program is a strategic alliance designed to provide access to high-quality education and lessen the strain on public schools.
