Dominic Frimpong, a player for Berekum Chelsea, tragically lost his life during an armed robbery incident.

  Tragedy has struck Ghanaian football following the death of Dominic Frimpong, a player for Berekum Chelsea, who succumbed to gunshot wounds after an armed robbery attack on the team’s bus. The incident reportedly occurred along the Goaso–Bibiani road near Ahyiresu in the Ahafo Region, where armed men blocked the road and opened fire on the vehicle carrying players and officials. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the sudden attack forced team members to flee into nearby bushes in a desperate attempt to escape. Frimpong, however, sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the chaos. The young footballer, who was on loan from Aduana FC since January for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite efforts by medical personnel, he passed away while being prepared for transfer to a higher-level facility.
