  GCB Bank PLC has formally presented a proposal to TikTok to serve as a direct payment gateway for Ghanaian content creators, in a move designed to streamline payouts and strengthen the country’s digital economy. The initiative seeks to cut out intermediaries and reduce fees, ensuring creators receive a larger share of their earnings from TikTok gifts and monetization streams. Under the proposal, GCB would leverage its financial infrastructure to provide direct transfers into bank accounts, mobile money wallets, and Visa or MasterCard debit cards. By removing third-party agents who often take significant commissions, the system is expected to make digital content creation more financially rewarding and transparent.
