Momo Agents To Meet President Akuffo Addo On 1st May

The Ghanaian Mobile Money Agents Association has stated that they will meet with President Nana Akufo-Addo in May to discuss the contentious Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).

According to Dela Dunstan Abotsi, the Association’s President, the meeting with the president would address some of their worries about the E-Levy, which will begin on May 1.

“Because the president has invited us to meet with him next month, we are unable to make any decisions until we meet with him.” We don’t want to make any mistakes that we will regret later. Imagine making a decision and everything going smoothly after meeting with the president.” Citineswroom.com was cited in this article.

In the meantime, President Akufo-Addo has signed the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) bill, which will become law on March 31, 2022.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) will begin collecting the levy on May 1, 2022.

According to the most recent development, the levy will go into effect on May 1, 2022, as announced by Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta.
